The photographs in this remarkable book evoke the bygone age of traditional fairs. Taking the heart of England on a county-by-county basis, the book covers fairs in the counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Leicestershire, Coventry and Birmingham. The book was compiled with the assistance of the National Fairground Archive at Sheffield University, which is the guardian of this magnificent collection of fairground photographs.
