Jackson Memorial to Include a… Casino?

The death of Michael Jackson, pop star extraordinaire, shocked much of the world and still has loyal fans grieving his early demise. Jackson’s life had become much of a carnival in his latter years, figuratively and literally, and with his death we’re not seeing any exception to that rule.

On June 4, Joe Jackson, Michael’s father, unveiled plans to erect a lavish memorial complex in the Jackson’s home of Gary, Indiana. The structure is slated to be a museum, but Joe insists that the structure will reflect Michael’s life and will not act solely as a visitor-friendly shrine.

Always the eccentric, Michael’s life was full up with glitz and glamour. His home, Neverland Ranch, was an amusement park, basically, and his father is looking to keep that theme with the Indiana memorial.

Jackson wants his son’s museum to be a living, breathing testament to Michael’s weird and wonderful tastes. Although no one is sure if Jackson plans to fit the museum with the various train rides and other amusement park staples Michael kept on his property, it is clear that papa Joe is looking to capitalize on this venture by having a casino installed.

That’s right. Jackson isn’t only after a historic monument to his son’s life. He wants blackjack tables and slot machines and all-you-can-eat buffets.

Casinos are certainly popular wherever they pop up. From land-based casinos in Connecticut, New Jersey and Nevada to Internet gaming houses and their no download casino selections, people certainly love to gamble.

It’s unclear, however, if the Gary city planners—or the state government—will allow this. But Joe is already looking to invest in this venture.

Jackson is a relatively wealthy man, and other investors seeking to make money on Michael’s name will be sure to put their money in to see this project through.

At this point, it’s all up to Gary and whether or not they approve of such a structure erected by their favorite citizen’s father.
