The ancient town of Banbury in
Oxfordshire hosts a street charter fair in October. This has been a
tradition for around 400 years, first starting as a hiring or mop
fair.
In the present day, Willie Wilson
brings his rides, including the Booster, Chaos, Dodgems and
Waveswinger. All of these attractions and more are seen at the
pull-on. This is followed by the opening ceremony, then all the
rides in action.
On a first time visit this year was
Harry Hebborn's Waltzer. Other rides included Thomas Jones's Orbiter,
Joey Noyce's Jump and Smile, James Noyce's Gallopers, William
Sheldon's Twist, Charles Deakin-Stevens's Dodgems and George
Wharton's Sun Wheel.
