Starting with A&R's rides in action
on Paignton Green for the Regatta Fair, featuring their Dodgems,
Jump and Smile, Meteorite, Miami, Orbiter, Superstar, Twist, 'Hell
Raiser' Waltzer, plus the major rides of other tenants attending.
This is followed by seven showman's
engines with box trucks in tow, arriving and departing from
Goodrington for the Torbay Steam Fair Road Run. This was a very
special occasion to celebrate 100 years of Anderton & Rowland's
grand 98-key Marenghi fairground organ. It was also to celebrate the
centenary of the showman's engine, 'The White Rose of York'.
The fairground section, traction
engines, together with A&R's grand organ playing, are also seen at
the Twentieth Torbay Steam Fair. This is followed by a steam road
run along Paignton sea front.
