1970s

The decade of Glam rock, disco and punk saw new owners, Associated Leisure Entertainments Ltd, bringing Dreamland up to date with current popular trends.

The cinema was divided to create two smaller auditoriums to increase the cinema offer, and the theatre programme was adapted to incorporate West End shows such as Paul Raymond's risqué comedy farce, The Bed; No Sex Please We're British and television spin-offs like The Dick Emery Show.

In 1975 the zoo was re-introduced to Dreamland by Michael Frewer who brought in his collection of wild and farmyard animals.

Dreamland continued as a music venue featuring such acts as...

T Rex | Status Quo | Bay City Rollers | The Sweet | Suzi Quattro and
many more
